Blog of a Horse Racing Enthusiast
Dynamic Sky is a Sky Mesa and Murani colt. He won the Simcoe at Woodbine in September and the Pasco at Tampa Bay Downs in January. In 7 career starts he's only finished out the money once. Trainer Mark Casse has him prepping for the Blue Grass stakes on April 13th in which he'll need a top 3 finish in order to have enough points to qualify for the Kentucky Derby.
Overanalyze is a Mike Repole owned, Todd Pletcher trained colt. He's sired by Dixie Union and won two Grade 2 stakes, the Belmont Futurity and Remsen, in his five juvenile starts. If the story stopped there you would probably give him a serious look for the Derby. Unfortunately, it doesn't - he ran a very disappointing 5th in the Gotham Stakes (G3).
Power Broker, a Pulpit and Shop Again colt, broke his maiden in the FrontRunner Stakes (G1) in his fourth career start. The expectations were high for this horse but he finished a disappointing 5th in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile. Two year old's can mature quickly, and Baffert thinks this horse is ready, with plans to run him in the Santa Anita Derby (G1) this upcoming weekend. He's going to need more points to secure a trip to Kentucky on the first weekend in May and the Santa Anita Derby is a good a test as any.
