Far Right is a Notional and Zindi colt trained by Ron Moquett. As a yearling, he was sold for the bargain price of $2,500. It took him three attempts to break his maiden, but since that time he has steadily progressed into a graded stakes caliber horse.
He finished 4th in the G2 Guturity, third in the Street Sense and G3 Delta Downs Jackpot, and then went on to win the Smarty Jones and G3 Southwest Stakes. He put in a strong performance in the G1 Arkansas Derby this weekened, finishing second, which should give him enough points to Run for the Roses on May 2.
Many feel that American Pharoah is a heavy favorite for the Kentucky Derby and if Far Right couldn't hang with him in the Arkansas Derby then Kentucky will be a long shot. However, in a field of 20, post position and the type of race have huge impacts on the outcome. Far Right is one to keep an eye on.
