Day 21: #10 Dullahan
Dullahan is an Even the Score and Mining My Own colt. He has two career wins in eight career starts, his latest coming in the Blue Grass over the heavily favored Hansen. The discussion after the Blue Grass amongst horse racing experts was that jockey Ramon Dominguez (on Hansen) never saw Dullahan coming and put away the whip too early. Regardless, it was still an impressive win in a tough field.
I'm personally having a hard time deciding how to view Dullahan. He's trained by Dale 'Pass Me Another Corn Dog' Romans, who epitomizes everything that is wrong with horse racing today. Despite that, he's got a good horse in Dullahan who has faced his Kentucky Derby competition in several races over the last year. Field position will mean a lot in this race, but right now Dullahan makes the short list with a good chance to upset the odds.
