El Kabeir is a Scat Daddy sired colt who won the G2 Kentucky Jockey Club, G3 Jerome Stakes, and the G3 Gotham. He finished third in the G1 Wood Memorial and has more than enough points to Run for the Roses. Terranova currently has him training at Belmont Park.
"He went really well and did it in hand," said racing manager Justin Zayat. "He is pretty full of himself and we're excited for him to run in the Derby. I think he's a sleeper."
We agree. Although he finished third in the Wood Memorial, he put on a good showing and in a large field, he could make some noise. Will it be enough to win? We don't need, but El Kabeir will definitely be a fit for some of our exotics.
