Mubtaahij is the Sheikh Mohd al Maktoum owned winner of the G2 UAE Derby. His 100 points guarantee him a post for the Kentucky Derby, a race he's currently prepping for at Arlington Park.
"We were very happy [...]. [He was] perky and bright eyed and appear to have suffered no ill effects from the long travel," assistant trainer Trevor Brown said.
Mubtaahij is a wild card in this race, having never raced against this group of contenders before. He's a great horse that earned his post, but it's hard to know what to expect, as previous UAE Derby winners haven't fared well in Kentucky. That said, there's a first for everything, and he's worth a look.
