Kentucky Derby Contenders - Day 3: #28 Daredevil

Daredevil is a More Than Ready and Chasethewildwind colt trained by Todd Pletcher. He won the G1 Champagne in October of last year but finished a disappointing 11th in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile. He's currently the 9-5 favorite for tomorrow's Wood Memorial coming out of the No. 6 post.
"I think he's very talented," Pletcher said of Daredevil, one of his half-dozen Derby hopefuls. "He's also fast, and part of his success stretching out is going to depend on how he settles the first part (of the race). So we're excited about the opportunity."
Daredevil's performance in the Wood Memorial will determine his chances on the first Saturday in May. He's a confirmed mud horse, but with only a 10% chance of rain on Saturday, he'll have to demonstrate he can handle dry conditions. His latest works have been fast though, and some are predicting a wire-to-wire finish. Either way, this Derby prep race will be one to watch!
Check back tomorrow when we preview #27 on our list, Ocho Ocho Ocho.
