Golden Soul is a Perfect Soul and Hollywood Gold colt. He is trained by Dallas Stewart and ridden by 3-time Kentucky Derby winning jockey Calvin Borel. He broke his maiden in just his second attempt and finished second in the Lecomte (G3) in mid-January.
Unfortunately, since that time he has finished sixth in the Risen Star (G2) and fourth in the Louisiana Derby (G2) against guaranteed Kentucky Derby competition. He's not currently listed as a probably for any more prep races, which likely signals the end of his bid for the Kentucky Derby.
We'll continue to follow him up to the Run for the Roses, but he's not on any short lists right now!
