Location: Secretariat Lounge, 2nd floor of the Churchill Downs clubhouse
Directions to Secretariat Lounge: (From Gate 17 entrance) – Take Gate 17 escalators to second floor and the double-door entrance to the Secretariat Lounge will be on the right); (From Joe Hirsch Media Center) – Take media elevator to 2nd floor; turn right into the ITW area and the double-door entrance to the Secretariat entrance will be near the Gate 17 escalators.
Access: Not open to the public. Invitations and media credentials only

Process: The 2010 Kentucky Derby Post Position Draw will revert back to a traditional "pill pull" where horses' entry blanks are pulled simultaneously with a numbered pill to determine what stall a horse will break from in the starting gate (Note: Churchill Downs previously used a two-tier process for 12 years from 1998-2009, a format that was created for live television with the hope of adding more drama and suspense. Instead of horses merely being assigned a post position, the connections of each horse would select their starting spots. First, there was a “pill pull” that would determine what order a horse’s connections would pick there place in the starting gate. After the selection order was established and a break for strategizing, the post position selection process would follow, much like a draft in other professional sports.).
Time Table: 12:02 p.m. promptly official program begins with host John Asher, VP Racing Communications; 12:04 p.m. draw commences (should conclude by 12:15 p.m.)
Post-Draw Interviews/News Conference: Auxiliary Media Center: 12:45 p.m. to 2 p.m. ET. Churchill Downs will host a news conference with key Kentucky Derby horsemen following the post position draw.
