Post Time Pete's 2013 Kentucky Derby 139 Analysis

Is it May already? The 139th Run for the Roses takes place tomorrow and for some reason this year I feel like it snuck up on me. There's a 60% chance of rain, which could make this an interesting race.
Orb is currently the morning line favorite at 7-2, but coming out the 16th post he'll really have to be the best horse in the field to win it. I will include him in some of my exotics, but he's not my pick to win.
Revolutionary is currently going off at 10-1 with Calvin Borel - are you kidding me? Black Onyx is a scratch which puts Borel one step closer to the rail at Churchill Downs on a potentially wet track. There's no way those odds hold, but I'll definitely have money on him tomorrow.
Goldencents is another horse I really like - trainer Doug O'Neill and jockey Kevin Krigger have put together a great stretch on him. Plus, the cinderella story that Rick Pitino is writing is enjoyable.
I also think Verrazano is the real deal and the 14 post is a good start position for him. I grew up on Staten Island, New York, but I promise the name is not why I like him! ;-)
My longshots are MyLute with the hard charging Rosey Napravnik in the reins and Palace Malice piloted by Hall of Famer Mike Smith.
