The California Horse Racing Board has suspended trainer Genaro Vallejo for 180 days and fined $5,000 after a horse under his care tested positive for the Class 3 medication Promazine, a metabolite of Acepromazine.

A winter storm has led Oaklawn Park to cancel its Feb. 16 Presidents' Day card that included the $300,000 Southwest Stakes. The Southwest, part of Oaklawn's series of prep races for the Arkansas Derby, will be rescheduled for the Feb. 21-22 weekend.
