Cozi Rosie used a splendid rail-skimming ride from Garrett Gomez to capture the Grade 2, $250,000 John C. Mabee Stakes by a half-length on the Del Mar turf Aug. 14.

The form of an opening-day maiden race held up Sunday, but just barely, when My Miss Aurelia ($3) prevailed by a hard-fought neck over Millionreasonswhy in the 95th running of the Grade 2, $150,000 Adirondack Stakes for 2-year-old fillies.
