After four weeks of featuring supporting players and new faces, the star of the show, Shanghai Bobby, makes his eagerly awaited debut on the Kentucky Derby trail Jan. 26 when he faces nine opponents in the 1 1/16-mile Holy Bull Stakes at Gulfstream Park.
Zillah Reddam's Renee's Titan capitalized on a torrid early pace to stun newly-crowned champion Beholder at odds of 20-1 in Monday's Grade 2, $150,500 Santa Ynez Stakes at Santa Anita.

Willis Horton's Will Take Charge notched his first stakes victory Jan. 21 when he got the best of eight other 3-year-olds in the $150,000 Smarty Jones Stakes at Oaklawn Park.

Morton Fink's homebred Wise Dan swept three categories -- Horse of the Year, older male, and male turf horse -- at the Jan. 19 Eclipse Awards ceremony in Hallandale Beach, Fla., becoming the first horse to do so since John Henry in 1981.
