The veterinary staff of the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission has added some additional protocols to its operations in an effort to cut down on the number of equine fatalities at the state's tracks.

With horses invading from at least four countries as well as various parts of the United States for the Beverly D. Stakes, it is somewhat ironic that morning line favorite Marketing Mix has been based on the Arlington Park backstretch much of the summer.
The top-three finishers from both the Grade 1 American Oaks and Grade 2 San Clemente Handicap are among those entered to go nine grassy furlongs on Saturday in the Grade 1, $300,000 Del Mar Oaks.
