Calvin Borel has been selected to represent the United States in the Meydan Masters jockey competition at Meydan Racecourse in Dubai on Feb. 17-18.
Oaklawn Park has made the decision to cancel live racing for Thursday, Feb. 10 after another snow storm hit Hot Springs, Ark. on Wednesday.
Well Armed, best known for his record-breaking 14-length victory in the 2009 Dubai World Cup Sponsored by Emirates Airline, has been retired from racing.

WinStar Farm's 2010 Belmont Stakes winner Drosselmeyer, who has been working strongly toward his 4-year-old debut, is being pointed to the $10 million Dubai World Cup at Meydan March 26.
The field for the Grade 3, $200,000 El Camino Real Derby at Golden Gate on Saturday will include the third Grade 1 winner in the race's history: Comma to the Top, the likely favorite, won the Grade 1 CashCall Futurity in December at Hollywood Park.

Trainer John Sadler's remarkable weekend at Santa Anita continued Sunday when Gladding, making his stakes debut, led from start to finish in the Grade 2, $150,000 San Antonio Stakes for older horses.
One thing was missing from the Santa Anita meet's richest Grade 1 for older horses -- a favorite.

Cherokee Queen found the right trip under Alex Solis and used it to bag her first graded stakes victory, taking the Grade 3, $150,000 Suwannee River by two lengths Feb. 5 at Gulfstream Park.

Twirling Candy won the Grade 2 Strub Stakes by 4 1/2 lengths over Tweebster, a margin that could have been much greater if jockey Joel Rosario had urged the colt at all in the final furlong.
